The Human Resources department, in collaboration with Sun Life Financial, will present a pension workshop entitled Understanding your Pension Investment Options on Wednesday, October 3 at the university’s north Oshawa location. It will also offer a webinar version of the presentation the following day. Managers and deans should encourage faculty and staff to attend wherever possible.

A new investment option, the Phillips, Hager & North (PH&N) Core Plus Bond Segregated Fund, will be available as of Wednesday, September 26.

As of Thursday, October 18, the BlackRock Universe Bond Index Segregated Fund will be discontinued as a defined contribution pension plan investment option.

This fall’s pension education sessions will help you understand your pension investment options to support you in your decision-making process.

• What you may need to do and consider regarding your investment choices.
• What will happen if you are affected by the fund change and do not take action.
• A review of the online tools available to support your decision-making process in selecting the best investment option(s) for you.

Following the workshop, 30-minute one-on-one sessions with a Sun Life Education Consultant will be available. Bring your questions about your Defined Contribution Pension Plan account balance, funds and your future retirement goals.
