Smart Start program for incoming first-year students continues through August 31
Smart Start, an academic transition program hosted by the Student Learning Centre, is underway and will continue through Friday, August 31.
Smart Start provides incoming first-year students with a head start in their university career. Students attend faculty-specific sessions and participate in interactive workshops and activities.
The program provides an introduction to:
- Active study strategies.
- Managing university expectations.
- Math and/or writing review.
- Mental health strategies.
- Navigating the library website and accessing library resources and tools.
- Planning and time management.
- Common assignments.
- Research skills.
- Q&A with upper-year students.
