Skill 'n Tell workshop – Google Backup and Sync
Most of us understand the importance of backing up our data, but we are not always sure how and when to do it. What would you do if you lost everything today? If your laptop hard drive malfunctions, or if your data files become corrupted, would you be prepared?
The Human Resources department invites faculty and staff to sign up for a Skill 'n Tell workshop where you will learn about Google Backup and Sync, a tool that allows you to do full-system backups to Google Drive. Using Google Backup and Sync, you can upload and store files from any folder on your computer, camera and/or SD cards in the cloud. You can also locate your content from your phone, any tablet or another computer using Google Drive and your photos and videos in Google Photos by just selecting a few buttons.
Workshop participants will learn how to:
- Download and install Google Backup and Sync.
- Choose which files/folders to backup/sync to Google Drive.
- Use the Sync my drive to this computer option.
- Identify the Google Drive folder location and desktop icon on your PC.
- Locate your backup online on the Google Drive website.
