Join the 2017 university/college dragon boat team
The university’s and college’s Dragon Boat Team seeks members to fill open spots on its boat.
The team will participate in the on Saturday, June 16 at Palmer Park in Port Perry, Ontario. This year, proceeds will be shared between two charities:
- Port Perry Hospital Foundation: To enhance support for cancer recovery and palliative care at Lake Ridge Health Port Perry.
- Scugog Lake Stewards (20 per cent): To continue protecting and enhancing the health of Lake Scugog and its most recent initiative to dredge the basin of the shores of Palmer Park.
Teams are best with 23 to 24 people registered per boat, with 21 members participating in each race. Registration for the event is $50 per person (team t-shirts provided).
No experience is necessary to participate in this fun-filled, team-building, morale-lifting day! Participants are also encouraged to collect pledges for this great cause.
If you are able to attend on race day and available for two weeknight practices (Wednesday, June 6 at 6 p.m. and Thursday, June 14 at 6 p.m.), contact Suzanne Land, Team Manager, at ext. 6570 as soon as possible to reserve your seat.
Note: The registration fee and signed waiver forms were collected at the information meeting on April 30. If you were unable to attend the meeting and are interested in joining the team, please let Suzanne know so alternative arrangements can be made.
