Website content management system upgrade March 23
On Friday, March 23, the university will upgrade the content management system (CMS) used to edit and publish content across all of its websites. The latest version, Cascade CMS 8, introduces a completely redesigned and reorganized user interface.
Cascade CMS 8 highlights:
- Modernized look and feel.
- Fewer and larger buttons.
- Larger web-friendly fonts featuring enhanced clarity.
- Simpler menus, fewer buttons, and easier access to create, edit, copy and publish functions.
- Mobile-friendliness.
Note: To accommodate the time required to complete the upgrade, CMS access will not be available Thursday, March 22. Any urgent website updates during this window should be directed to webteam@uoit.ca.
This upgrade will not change the look and functionality of the live university website. This upgrade only affects the appearance of the CMS.
What do you need to do?
- Register for and attend an online CMS training session (webinar)
Multiple CMS training sessions in the new system will be available Monday, March 26 to Thursday, March 29. Please . Note: Sessions are limited to 12 people to allow participants to ask questions. If you are unable to attend a session, the webinar recording will be posted online. The online will be updated in April. - Update the user list for your website(s)
If you are currently a manager of a website(s), complete the to update your list of users. You should request CMS profile removal for previous work-study students or other individuals no longer in your department or faculty. If you are unsure of who currently has access to your site, contact the Web team to request your current user list.
