FSSH welcomes QES Visiting Scholar from South Africa
Martine Faurie is a Visiting Scholar from the School of Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. Her supervisor is Alyson King, PhD, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH).
As a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship (QES), Faurie is visiting our university to conduct a critical analysis of ecotourism within the Cederberg Nature Reserve Complex (200 km north of Capetown, South Africa) from a good governance perspective.
While in Canada, she will explore ecotourism and good governance from a Canadian angle, and share and compare experiences in the field.
While working towards her master’s degree, she has been a Project Assistant at the School of Public Leadership and at , a green economy consultancy.
