TLC welcomes new Manager
Susan Forbes, PhD, joined the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) as Manager, effective January 29. Dr. Forbes is currently a member of the Student Success Committee at the university and is part of the team working to enhance advising. She is also a Sessional Instructor in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
She brings many years of administrative and academic experience. She has worked as a manager in the private sector as well as at eight universities in roles including:
- Adjunct Professor
- Instructor
- Project Development Manager
- Research Project Co-ordinator
She was also an Assistant Professor, with tenure, at Brock University.
She has an extensive research and project management background in the area of Education and Kinesiology. She is currently a consultant with the Ontario Physical Education Association and Coaches Association of Ontario Provincial Sport Concussion Policy Project. Susan is also Research Lead of the Play Safe Initiative, an injury-prevention project funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. She serves as a Consultant to National Sports Organizations – Long Term Officiating Development Committee, where she explores factors contributing to the retention of amateur sports officials.
Dr. Forbes holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Kinesiology) from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Arts (Political Science) from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from the University of Calgary.
