SSHRC launches 2018 Storytellers challenge

Great research matters—but how you tell a story is just as important.

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) has launched its sixth-annual , which challenges post-secondary students to show Canadians how social sciences and humanities research is improving their lives, world and future. The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) and the Office of Research Services (ORS) encourage undergraduate and graduate students to participate in this national competition.

Students can send in their best three-minute or 300-word pitch promoting a great SSHRC-funded project happening at our university. Students can pitch their own research project or a professor’s, with permission.

The stories should be creative, compelling and clear. Students may use video, audio, text or infographics to answer questions such as:

  • Where is the research taking us?
  • What is the story?
  • How does it impact Canadians?
