Sad news regarding DC retiree and former university employee Linda Campbell
Durham College (DC) retiree Linda Campbell recently passed away. Prior to retiring in 2010, Linda worked as an Employment Advisor with the Hired Career Services team at DC for more than 15 years, where she provided career and employment support to students at the college’s Oshawa and Whitby campuses. She also worked as the university’s Internship Co-ordinator, where she was instrumental in helping university students obtain placements in their chosen field.
The campus community will fondly remember Linda and her commitment to students, her colleagues and the college and university. Many will miss her kindness, positive attitude and calm, supportive nature.
A private ceremony was held two weeks ago for family. A Celebration of Life will be held in early April for family, friends and former colleagues. Details will be shared as soon as they are available.
For those interested, in lieu of sending flowers, you can make a donation in Linda’s name to Brockville and District Hospice Palliative Care Services or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
Faculty and staff can access confidential counselling and bereavement services through Shepell.fgi, the university’s Employee Family Assistance Program provider, by calling 1.800.387.4765 or TTY Service at 1.877.338.0275.
